OCIA Dismissal Leaders help OCIA participants grow in their relationship with Christ through reflections on Scripture. Dismissal leaders should be comfortable leading group discussions and should have a basic understanding of Catholic teaching, tradition, and scripture. Training and resources are provided. The OCIA Dismissal Program takes place for about 30 minutes during the second half of Mass, when OCIA participants are dismissed from Mass to study together as a group. Dismissal Leaders are usually assigned to lead one meeting per month, although it is possible to be assigned more. The church that hosts the OCIA Dismissal program can vary by year, depending upon the needs of the OCIA participants.
