An OCIA Sponsor supports someone who is participating in the OCIA process. The sponsor helps the participant grow in their relationship with Christ as they prepare to receive the Sacraments. The sponsor also serves as a connection to the parish community. OCIA sponsors should have a desire to grow in and share the Catholic faith and should be able to attend OCIA formation sessions with their OCIA participant. Formation sessions take place two times a month for about 1.5 hours on a weeknight or on Sundays after Mass depending on the needs of the ministry. Sponsors should also be able to attend Masses for OCIA Rites as well as the
