The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international organization of Catholic lay people who focus on helping people in need within their local communities. Members (ages 18 and over) should be compassionate and non-judgmental. The St. Vincent de Paul Conferences at Immaculate Conception and at St. Peter Claver meet once a month. Members choose how much additional time they volunteer outside of meetings to help others.

  • Immaculate Conception: Volunteers with the Immaculate Conception Conference of St. Vincent de Paul participate in many different types of activities, such as working at the St. Vincent de Paul Store in Sheboygan, making phone calls and home visits, delivering emergency food, helping at the food pantry, participating in the Annual Walk for the Poor, and bookkeeping. The Immaculate Conception Conference meets at Immaculate Conception on the second Tuesday of each month from 6 to 7:30 pm.

  • St. Peter Claver: Volunteers with the St. Peter Claver Conference of St. Vincent de Paul make home visits, help distribute clothing and household goods, and help distribute financial assistance for rent, utilities, and transportation. When meeting with someone in need, volunteers provide them with gift bags containing personal care items and cleaning supplies. They also share information about local resources, such as food pantries and free meal programs. Volunteers pray for those in need and make follow-up phone calls to them. The St. Peter Claver Conference meets on the first Monday of each month from 5 to 7 pm.
