About Mrs. Schmahl

Hello! I'm Kerrie Schmahl and the fifth grade teacher at Christ Child Academy. I graduated December of 2000 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary/Middle School Education and a minor in Social Science.

I began my teaching career working with children with special needs in the Random Lake School District. In 2001, I joined the Christ Child Academy team to teach middle school social studies, English, religion and literature.  After that, for two years, I was Christ Child Academy's fourth grade teacher.  While I truly enjoyed my time with my fourth graders, at the end of the 2004-2005 school year, I made the life-altering decision to become a stay-at-home mother.  After only a year away from teaching, however, I was thrilled when the opportunity arose to teach computer science at Christ Child Academy.  At the time, this was a new class for the school.  I ended up teaching it one day a week for eight years for kindergarten through eighth grade.  Then, once both my sons went to school full time, I was able to go back to teaching full time and became the fifth grade teacher at Christ Child Academy.

I love teaching and treat my students as I would my own children.  It is my hope that my students not only master the fifth grade curriculum and strengthen their faith through their time in my classroom but also continue their growth in becoming productive members of our society.  I look forward to working with my fifth graders and their families throughout this school year.
