“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Welcome to music class! My name is Paula Harder. I have been teaching band for 12 years, after graduating from Madison in 2004. I am an active clarinetist and perform with Wisconsin Symphonic Winds in Neenah. I also play piano regularly for church.
I am looking forward to teaching music at Christ Child Academy!
Grades K-4: We will be learning about matching pitch, moving to a steady beat, and will get to listen to music from famous composers and other countries! 4th graders will be continuing with recorders half-way through the year.
Grades 5-8: Depending on the grade level, you will have a chance to work on recorder, piano or hand chimes. In 7th and 8th grade, we will be playing these simultaneously. We, of course, will be enhancing our vocal skills in order to sing up to 3-part harmony. You will be learning about different styles of music from history, from Medieval through jazz and rock, and will be able to compose your own piece by the end of the year.
