Welcome to 3rd Grade

Ms. Hayes

Hello and welcome to 3rd Grade! My name is Ms. Hays and I am so excited to be here at Christ Child Academy! This is my 3rd year teaching and my 1st year teaching Third Grade. I have taught the last two years in Fourth Grade and enjoyed it very much, but am looking forward to exploring Third Grade with the students this year!

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Music from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana.  I graduated Cum Laude in 2014, moved from Indiana to Wisconsin May 2014, and have been in a classroom ever since! I worked in Menomonee Falls for a few months in their Child Development Center, where I learned hands-on skills to help children grow and explore through interest. I then received a full-time teaching job in Milwaukee where I worked for one year. I learned so much about  myself working with the students in Milwaukee, from becoming a better teacher, to being a sympathetic figure for the students, to learning about myself. I wouldn’t trade my experience for the world as it has shaped me into the teacher I am today.

Outside of school, I enjoy being outdoors, music, and time spent with friends. I have two dogs – Meeko and Lambeau – and a ferret – George – who are the apples of my eye. I also coach high school tennis at Port Washington High School for the boys and the girls team.

I look forward to this school year and helping students grow, learn, and explore as we dive into the curriculum and materials! I strive to make the material interesting for the students and bring it down to their level in the class. I know this year is going to be great and I can’t wait to see where it takes us!

Feel free to check out our Classroom Page where you can find spelling lists, pictures, classroom websites, and more! I have also included an area where you can email me or send a note while visiting the page. You can also email me at any time! I look forward to this school year and the opportunities that will help us grow!
